IBM Pen computers that had been developed before this had brand names of "ThinkPad" or "PS/55", but after this had been released, pen computers from IBM wasn't given "ThinkPad" brand (except 'ThinkPad TransNote')
Also, 2435 wasn't developed by IBM. manufacturer of this machine was Panasonic, so the design or system is diferrent from IBM's. For example, it doesn't have "Easy-setup". Instad of this, you set up its BIOS by installing BIOS setup utility for Win9x.

Different from IBM9103, the successor of IBM2435, it has a rubber strup for handheld operation.

To desemble IBM2435, 5 screws on back panel should be loosen.
|
 |
When all of 5 screws are removed, IBM2435(upper/bottom) can seperate in two sections(upper[including LCD panel]/lower[including systemboard]) easily.
2 sections are connected with a couple of connectors.

IBM2435(....and also Panasonic CF-01) has its specific trouble called "memory disease".
It is that the system can't recognize all of physical memory and the disease occur, system becomes unstable and sometimes it is halted.
According to the master of a junkshop in Akihabara, the disease may be caused by disconnection between board and BGA of CPU. So it can't be remended by soldering.
