1 What's the "Stamp on my journey(Wata-Tabi stamp)"?

On your railway journey in Japan, you'll often find a table made of wood near the ticket counter or check-in gate in many JR stations. On that table, there is a typical stamp that are named "Watashi-no-Tabi(Wata-Tabi) stamp" that shows the charactors and sightseeing points of the town. I don't know if there are such stamps in foreign countries, (I travelled nothern area of Scotland by train last year, but I couldn't find it) but even if it exists, I think there are few railway companies like JR(Japan Railways Corp.) that made such stamps that are provided in more than 700 stations on the same regulation of shapes and colors. By stamping it, you can find what's in the town and what you've seen in the town after the journey. It's both "the guide" and "the souvenir". I've collected this stamps from more than 20 years ago when I was a highschool boy, but I've not completed collecting them all yet. It's a great journey indeed..... |
