At the old temple "Goboh-san"
This is the "Renga" statue in the garden of "Gobou-san".
"Renga"(that means 'chain poetry') is the poetry which has been written in japan more than 1000years ago. "Renga" is written by more than 2 people. Someone write the former poetry with 5-7-5 syllables, other people continues 7-7 syllables of answering or continuing poetry, and others continues 5-7-5....and so on.
This Renga is written by "Ouchoh-in",who was the buddist in this temple, and "Kaga-no-chiyo-ni",who was a female buddist and a famous "Renga" poet.
The Renga on this statue is like below;
"raise your hands, the frogs that live together in the same flow"
(former)
"the kids in the shade see them and don't wanna go away"
(continuing)
