Takasaki City (or Gunma Prefecture) is in the northern part of Kanto area(which includes Tokyo)and is called "Jo-shu" that means "High-land in Kanto". Jo-shu has been famous to "Kakaa-tenka to Karakkaze('Wife chauvinist' and 'dry & cold wind in winter')" from long time ago.
It is also famous as the production of "Dharma", the cute(?) dolls of the Indian buddhist. In Japan people get one-eye Dharma when people have some wishes, and they paint both eyes of Dharma, in return for that the wishes are granted,
this huge Dharma is placed in the waiting room of "Joetsu Shinkansen superexpress".
