The remaining numbers of this "Type-419, AC-DC combertible electric commuter train" is decreasing year by year.
"Type-419" is very unique of its shape, because it was customized from "Type-583, AC-DC combertible electric sleeping limited express".
The seat is very wide and confortable but there are not sufficiant numbers of seats for a commuter train. Also because there still remain bed-units over the seats and the windows are small, the room looks not so light although it runs in the daylight. It was customized about 20 years ago and ran from Maibara to Kanazawa(Where I lived in when I was in Kanazawa University) or Toyama, so I often took this curious commuter train.
Because "Type-583" was made in late 1960s, this train is about 40 years old. So they are going to retire in the near future.
