Junk Point "It's been" junk
story The first ISDN terminal adaptor I bought was "NEC ATermIT55".This TA was connected through RS-232C to desktopPC which worked as a intranet proxy server and share connection with ThinkPad530CS. But there were many URLs that can't access via proxy server, so I tried to cope with this problem with hardware extension.
Routers with ISDN terminal adaptor were very expensive for personal users on that day. Fortunately I bought S-terminal unit (where to connect secondary TA) before from "Mr.Hachidon-san" but it was almost turned to junk. I tried to find secondry TA(Which didn't need DSU).
I walked around "Akihabara" and found this TA was piled in heaps and sold at \3,000 on the street shop. It was newer than IT55 and also had a USB terminal. It could take over the bottleneck of 115.2kbps on RS-232C interface.
So I bought this. after this, I found that there was only a desktopPC that had USB port, and I had to connect IT55 with RS-232C to desktopPC because the desktop was placed near the subsciber jack. So its USB port was of no use.
I connected IT65Pro to ThinkPad530CS....It could connect to the net....Oh,It disconnected. Why?
Because of the setting of device driver, or the conpatibility? I tried to set this to work correctly, but it couldn't.
"Because It's a junk." I got the answer. And I've used for a long time and one day, When I handled it, it sounds
"Click"
Something fell on the floor from this.
It was RJ-45 jack that was connected to the S-terminal.
It was half an year from when I had bought this.
After I soldered it, this device work completely. But it turned to be junk when I changed the subscriber to ADSL.
IT55 went to my sister-in-law's home at Izu-Ooshima Island, but this device remained at my home. But someday when I go back to my home town, I have to change the subscriber to ISDN again and I will need this.......Oh, I have MELCO WLAR-128, the wirelles LAN router with ISDN TA.....
