Junk Point The "memory error storm"
story 2years ago, I was wandering around "Akihabara" with bloodshot eyes like a fighting bull, taking with 60,000Yen of budget for new PC obtained approval of my wife. It was a major upgrade of my PC after 4years from changing CPU P54C to P55C-200MHz.
I researched devices' price carefully, then got them for the price below to the budget, built them and install Windows98....and I was surprised.
"Oh! movies are played so smoothly! I can write CD-R! I can use retouch soft quickly!"......But an failure was occurred.
The system was frozen to read CD-R drive connected through SCSI.
I couldn't specify the cause of error, but I wasn't so anxious about this. "Windows98 may be unstable...."
After then, this system became stable installing windows2000, but it turned to be unstable again when I patched SP1.
One day, I copied movie files to my "TransNote" through intranet....Jesus, the file was broken I tried to download some PDS on internet and execute...."CRC error"....
I remembered that there often appeared blue screen" Memory Dump". At last, I scanned memory with memory test tool "Memtest86". There came....."memory error storm"...It was 2and half years after buying this memory module. (Warranty of this module is available only 1week...)
I got same module in the same PCshop, and checked it this time , and has been hardly occured error(this system may have bombs in HDD because I re-installed operating system on module with error!)
I am a very normal gentleman because I gave up enforcing the PCshop to change this module to new one ,pretending to buy this module now.....
