Story I,38years old don't like the words "I'm getting old...." those common middle-aged men may say or think. Evermore, I don't think so.
But I'm not so tough with my body. Now I have a waist pain and dizziness those I caught when I was 32
But I know I have a waist pain because I drive so long on my business and also because I eat and drink so much, and the dizziness have come from autonomic nerve difficiency because I worked too much. It's important that the cause of trouble becomes clear. The man who neglect to make such effort say "I'm getting old" as a words of compromise, I guess.
By the way, I use original desktopPC which have AMD-Athlon1GHz processor(Thounderbird core), I-will KK266 mainboard and 512MBytes of single data read SDRAM. It's already been out of date today so that it is less than "low-end model". But I didn't use PC with 3D game softwares(that's a waste of machine power), so I'm satisfied with this PC, except only two weak points.
One of these is that this Athlon processor doesn't have SSE instruction set but only MMX. So a recent video authouring software which is optimized to SSE/SSE2 is hard to operate.
Another point is that this processor is one of the highest processor in operating temperature, so the temperature rises easily more than 50celcius degrees that is maximal safe operating temperature on KK266.

So I took a granted to the data sheet of "Palomino", which is the next generation core of "Thunderbird". Palomio processor provides "3DNow!Professional" that applies SSE instruction set, and it also decreases operating temperature. Moreever,it works with old chipset like KT133/133A(many descriptions on several web sites say "it can work on KK266").
And then, timely offer came to me at "PC-shop Nojima ZAMA branch"(Japanese say it "Ship has came when I'm crossing river"). This retail package was sold 5,000Yen. I bought it immidiately.
Then I installed it to my PC being afraid of "core crush", and turn on....."AthlonXP1700+" I thought "It's successful!"....but it hang up when the system accessed HDD.

I tried to make the system work normally, adjusting the multiplizing rate of CPU clock, core voltage and connect AC socket directry without service tap.....but It can't work....
I had trobled with my playing work if the PC didn't work, so I re-installed previous "Thunderbird core" with retail cooling fan. This fan decrease the CPU temperature about 7-8 centidegree. It's a "retail fan" as may expected. Although 5,000Yen is a little expensive.......

Anyway, I don't give up using this CPU. I'm planning to change power supply unit because I installed many internal storage devices on this PC. And I think this processor may be uncongenial to KK266 mainboard or SDRAM, so I'm going to try it on lower clock frequency......but I've not done it yet. I'm not so spirited to do it. I think "I'm getting old........"
